Week of August 22 to 25

We made it through the first week of school! It has been an amazing first week, and I am so so grateful for each and every one of your kiddos. We spent our first week of school talking about and reviewing rules and procedures in our classroom and in the school about us. The students even made some SER posters of their own and posted them throughout the school. We also did some fun activities such as celebrating Liam's birthday, conducting a marshmallow and toothpick bridge, sharing our "Todo Sobre Mi" objects, and reflecting on the first week of school. We are getting set up for a very successful school year. I update the blog every Friday night / sometimes Saturday mornings. I will always send you an email reminder with the blog link when I have updated the blog. No need to guess when it's ready. 😜 I am looking forward to next week when we dive into some content! Welcome to 4th Grade Spanish Immersion!

Hola, parents and students! My name is Hannah Damsteegt, and I am your child's 4th grade Spanish Immersion teacher. I pray that you all had a wonderful summer break and are ready for a fun and exciting school year. I graduated from Calvin University in 2015 with a degree in Secondary K-12 Spanish Education. From 2016 to 2022, I worked in Tegucigalpa, Honduras as a 3rd grade English Immersion teacher. This is now my second year at Rose Park, and I am blessed to be here. I am excited to get to know your child and (you too, parents!) through-out the year and help them succeed in their education and participation during their school day. The ice cream social is scheduled for Thursday, August 17 from 6 PM to 7 PM . Please come if you are able to! It will be a time to fellowship over ice cream as the kiddos meet me, see their classroom, and play with their fellow students.
