Week of November 24 and 25

*This is going to be a detailed blog this week. Sorry about that!*  What We Learned this Week: Bible:   We will be finishing this unit at the end of the week of December 1 to 5. The test will happen most likely near the end of the week of December 8 to 12. In order to provide ample time to study, I am including the link to the  English study guide . The English study guide is meant for the parents to help guide their student's studying at home. I am providing the link to the  Spanish study guide  as well. The students will receive the paper copy of the Spanish study guide before the Thanksgiving break. Additionally, I am providing the link to the  Blooket  review games. The questions are modeled off of the test questions.   Math:  The students practiced long division this week. Week of November 17 to 21

*This is going to be a detailed blog this week. Sorry about that!*  What We Learned this Week: Bible:  This week, we read about how David spared King Saul's life MULTIPLE times. We saw how much David truly respected Saul as God's anointed king.  We will be finishing this unit at the end of the week of December 1 to 5. The test will happen most likely near the end of the week of December 8 to 12. In order to provide ample time to study, I am including the link to the English study guide . Week of November 10 to 14

What We Learned this Week: Bible:  We talked about David and Jonathan's friendship. We read how Jonathan protected David during the New Moon festival by devising a plan to test and confirm King Saul's intentions toward David. Saul grew angry at David's absence during the festival which prompted Jonathan to shoot his arrows at a further distance which indicated to David Saul's anger toward him. The students reflected on what a true friend is like and illustrated their ideas on a poster. Math:  This week, we have spent time practicing the different methods of division. We also learned how to divide using the "digit by digit" method. Reading:  This week, we talked about the struggles that our main characters face and overcome and what that could reveal to us as readers.  Starting next week, we will be starting a non-fiction unit in reading class.
