Week of December 12 to 16

What We Learned this Week

Bible: This week, we talked about how the Spirit of God left Saul. God was at work in David's life preparing him and getting him ready to become the future king of Israel.

Math: We have started long division. We practiced and reviewed how to divide a 2 and 3 digit dividend by a single digit divisor- with and without remainder. I would encourage the students to practice and review their basic division facts at home.

Reading: This week, we talked about building a repertoire of strategies that readers can use when they are reading informational texts.

Social Studies: The students conducted research on the Internet to identify fun facts about a man-made structure of their choosing. They had lots of fun using their iPads to conduct the research.

Lots of Christmas Fun!

The students did such a wonderful job at the Spanish Immersion Christmas concert. We celebrated Jesus' birth, and we did it all in Spanish. I am very proud of every child.

Our classroom Christmas party was so much fun! We all had a nice time of fellowship over pupusas, hot chocolate, games, and crafts. Thank you so much to the moms that helped to make this party a wonderful success!

Merry Christmas!

Families, it is my hope and prayer that during this Christmas season you find time to rest and revel at the birth of Jesus Christ. May it be a time filled with rest and rejuvenation as you spend time with family and loved ones. Feliz Navidad!
