Week of May 22 to 26
What We Learned this Week:
Math: This week, we learned how to compare fractions with unlike denominators.
Writing: We wrote a class example of a literary essay. Then, the students planned out their own literary essay and started to write their own.
MORE Fun Events this Week:
Our chapel was a roaring success! All the students had a part to play, and my parents provided awesome support. The whole student body seemed engaged with our Bible Friendly Feud game, the message was impactful, and our time of worship was God-glorifying. Thank you to all who came and worshipped with us.
On Wednesday afternoon, the students and I attended field day. We had a fun, sunny afternoon playing games all afternoon. The highlight was definitely being served ice cream by the Holland Police Department.
On Friday, the students walked to the park and enjoyed lunch with the rest of the Spanish immersion classes. They played on the playground equipment, and then they had a time of worship.
Next Week:
- Please send your student with a bag on Tuesday. The students need to have their lockers cleaned out by that day. They will have to take whatever belongings that are in there home on that day.
- We have finished a read aloud chapter book about Sadako Sasaki- a young Japanese girl who died as a result leukemia caused by the atomic bomb. On Thursday, we will each fold an origami paper crane and then we will say special prayer asking God to protect children all around the world. The students can bring in their own origami paper or they can decorate a white sheet of paper and bring that to school if they wish. I will also have plain white paper available.
- Our field trip to the Grand Rapids Public Museum is happening on Wednesday, May 31. Please check your email for more information.
