Week of October 14 to 19

What We Have Learned this Week:

Bible: We have started the new unit about King Saul- Israel's first king. We have started to study how he came to meet Samuel and how Samuel knew he was to anoint Saul as king over Israel.

Math: The students studied another type of area model used to multiply a two digit number by a one digit number. Later, we learned the short-cut method. We are now applying our knowledge in order to multiply a three digit number by a one digit number.

Reading: We have been immersing ourselves into the worlds of the characters in our books. We are stepping into their shoes and are using empathy to imagine their feelings and thoughts towards certain events in the books we are reading.

Writing: The students are working hard on their realistic fiction stories! I am meeting with each of them during writing small groups and am excited to see their ideas develop into awesome short stories!

Grammar: This week, we learned how to form the Spanish present progressive tense. We also learned about the letter combinations that make the following letters sound like the /k/ sound: "qu," "k," and "c."

No Homework for the Week of October 21 to 25:

Due to no school on October 23-25, there will be NO homework assignments! There will be no spelling test for this week as well. Enjoy the homework break! 😊

From the Office:

School picture retakes will be happening on Monday October 21, if your child is interested.
