Week of November 18 to 22

What We Have Learned this Week:

Bible: We have finished up our study on King Saul and his reign, and the test is scheduled for the 26th of November. The students already have their physical copies of the study guide.

I am including the English study guide here so you can support your student's studying.

I am also including links to Blooket games the students can use to review at home. If the games' dates have expired, please let me know.

Math: We have started our division unit! We are learning how to use the box method to divide. This strategy is similar to another box method we used when we multiplied.

Writing: The students have started to generate opinion ideas for their persuasive essays.

*There will be NO homework assigned for the week of November 25 and 26. This includes no spelling test. Enjoy your Thanksgiving break!*

Tuesday, November 26 "Bring your Stuffed Animal" Day

The students are allowed to bring in a stuffed animal, blanket, OR pillow to school on this day. However, it has to be able to fit in their backpacks- nothing bigger than that, please!

Spanish Immersion Field Trip (Monday, November 25)

Hola 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade parents!

I am so excited to share with you about an upcoming Spanish Immersion field trip. On Monday, November 25, the students and their teachers are headed to Yureika’s Delicias Catrachas in order to meet the owners and hear about how they have seen God working in their lives. We will be eating lunch there, as well- authentic, Honduran food. ¡Qué rico! There is no need to send money with your child to school on that day. The school will cover the food cost.

If you have any questions, you can contact Hannah Damsteegt via email at <<hdamsteegt@hollandchristian.org>>.

Gracias!

From the Children's Advocacy Center:

As part of our mission to equip minds and nurture hearts to transform the world for Jesus Christ, HC works to provide students with the knowledge and skills to guard themselves in this fallen world. Part of HC’s commitment to student safety is providing counsel and resources for sexual abuse prevention and intervention from the Children’s Advocacy Center. Please see the informed consent letter for more information.

If you have any questions about the content of the presentation, we encourage you to reach out to the Children’s Advocacy Center. If you would like your child to not participate in the presentation, please fill out this form at least one week prior to the presentation date. HC will anticipate participation unless they receive a submitted opt-out form.

Our class presentation will happen on December 4.
