Week of December 16 to 20

What We Learned this Week:

Bible: This week, we studied David's sins. We learned the importance of truly repenting and turning to God for His help in our most vulnerable moments.

On Friday, January 10, the students will be taking the chapter 8 test. I am providing the links to the English study guide so the parents can support their students and the Spanish study guide for the students. The students will get their hard copy on January 6. In addition, I am providing some links to Blooket games that the students can play. The links should be good from now through January 10.

Math: We have just finished up our division unit! We will be finishing up the testing of this unit after the break.

Reading: We are taking some time to identify main ideas and supporting details of texts.

Spelling: Here is the link to the spelling list for the week of January 6 to 10! The spelling test will happen on January 10.

Have a wonderful Christmas break! I pray a special blessing over your family. May you fellowship with family and loved ones over the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is the reason for the season! See you in 2025!

From the Spanish Department:

Announcing the HC Spanish Immersion apparel store coming January 17! More details to come but we are excited about the opportunity to have apparel and gear specific to our Spanish Immersion program. Be on the lookout for more details after break!

From the Office:

  • Gadgets for Christmas

Just in case a child receives a smart device or personal tech with connectivity, we want to remind you of our policy to uphold healthy learning spaces throughout HC to the best of our ability.

Personal Technology: Personal Technology is not necessary in a school setting and disrupts the learning environment. Personal Technology includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Cell Phones

  • Smartwatches

  • Headphones or Earbuds

  • Personal Laptops

  • MP3-Players

  • Etc. (i.e. Any non-school issued personal technology)

If parents need to communicate with their student, they can send their student an email or call the office and get a note from the office.  Personal Technology items are not allowed to be used or visible during the time a student enters school until the final bell rings. If a student needs to use their phone, they must receive direct permission from a staff person to do so.
