Week of August 28 to 31
What We Learned this Week:
Bible: We talked about how Scripture is the ultimate source of Truth and can be used to answer questions we might have. We have kicked off our Bible class by going to the book of Philippians. We are using this book to answer questions concerning- "who?" "what?" "where?" "when?" and "why?"
Math: The students have learned place value and how to round to the nearest 10s, 100s, and 1000s. We will be using this basis knowledge to further development our understanding of rounding.
Grammar: We have been talking about the differences between the Spanish preterite and imperfect. We took a look at the endings of these verbs and how they can be used to help us determine if it is preterite or imperfect. We also took some time to talk about the differences between the time. This is a tougher concept to grasp, and we will be re-visiting this concept often through-out the year.
Writing: We spent some time this week to immerse ourselves in realistic fiction stories. We talked about the characteristics of realistic fiction, and we are ready to begin our new writing unit- realistic fiction!
Homework: Homework is assigned every Monday, and is due the following Monday. If your students still needs to turn in homework from last week, please have him / her turn it in on Tuesday. Thanks!
