Week of November 4 to 8
What We Learned this Week:
Bible: This week, we have learning about Saul's jealousy of David. We have been talking about how God has been preparing David for becoming king of Israel- successful in battles, popular and loved by the Israelites, filled with God's presence.
The students will be taking the chapter test around the 21st. It could be a day or two afterwards. I am sending the Spanish study guides home with the students on Monday, November 11. I am including the English study guide here so you can support your student's studying.
I am also including links to Blooket games the students can use to review at home.
Math: The students have been working SO hard on using estimation to check the reasonableness of their answers to double digit multiplication problems. They have also learned how to multiply a four digit number by a single digit number.
Reading: We have been paying attention to how main characters' actions AND the actions of secondary characters toward the main characters. This allows us, as good readers, to understand our main characters even more deeply.
Writing: We have done it! We have officially completed our realistic fiction stories. We culminated the unit by getting together with the other 4th grade sections. The students got into groups and shared their stories with each other. They discussed the heart messages of the stories and fellowshipped over a snack. It was fun!
Spelling: Here is next week's spelling list!

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes:
Our Christmas tree is looking beautiful! Please turn in your packed shoebox by November 15.
Snack for Upcoming Combined 4th Grade Activity (Nov. 26)
On November 26, the 4th grade students (all 3 sections) will be getting together to do a fun, combined activity. The 4th grade teachers would love to provide a snack and drink for each child during the activity.
We would like to have a parent volunteer to provide a snack and drink for 57 students. The snack and drink would have to be gluten free and not contain any tree nuts in order to accommodate everyone's dietary needs.
If you would like to supply the snacks and drinks, please let me know!
From the Spanish Department:
Please check out this information about the SPANISH Book Fair!
From the Office:
We are looking for 10-12 large containers with lids to use as classroom compost containers. These empty cat litter buckets are perfect, for those of you who have cats). If you have any empty containers like this to donate, we’d love to use them at school. Thanks!
