Week of October 27 to 31

What We Learned this Week:

Bible: This week, we studied how King Saul started off his reign by obeying and loving God. However, King Saul began to sin by disobeying God. Our class learned that God used Samuel in order to inform Saul that his kingdom would be taken from him and given to someone else more worthy of the throne.

Math: We have been reviewing for the upcoming unit 2 test. The students will be taking the unit two test on Monday, November 3. The students must be able to perform the following types of multiplication problems: 1 digit by 2 digits, 1 digit by 3 digits, 1 digit by 4 digits, and 2 digits by 2 digits. It may be a good idea to have your student begin to practice a bit at home. The students have several study materials at their disposal to help them prepare for the test: a practice test and several review packets.

Reading: We have been paying careful attention to the actions of minor characters towards the main characters. We discussed what their actions could reveal to us as readers.

Writing: We reviewed how to punctuate dialogue in our realistic fiction stories. We will work on our realistic fiction stories for a few more days before we start a new unit.

Spelling: Here are the spelling lists for next week!

Progress Update for the Month of October:

We recently concluded our Parent-Teacher Conferences, which gave us a wonderful opportunity to discuss your child's progress in depth!

To avoid duplicating information so soon after our meetings, I will not be sending home the standard monthly Progress Update sheet for October.

Instead, please keep an eye on your inbox this Monday morning. You will receive an email containing a QR code that links directly to a comprehensive list of any missing or incomplete assignments from the month of October. This will help you quickly identify any schoolwork that still needs to be completed.

As always, if you have specific questions about your child's academic performance or behavior from the past month, please do not hesitate to reach out via email.

Thank you for a great month and for your continued partnership!
